The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer is a smart and spacious 7-seater MPV that blends the practicality of a people carrier with the upmarket feel and driving dynamics BMW is known for. It’s ideal for growing families, weekend adventures or anyone who needs extra seats and a touch of refinement.

Why choose the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer?
Driving Experience
Despite being a seven-seater, the 2 Series Gran Tourer drives more like a hatchback than a bulky MPV. It’s smooth, comfortable and composed on the road, with confident handling and light steering that makes city driving easy. Choose from a range of petrol and diesel engines that strike a great balance between performance and efficiency. There’s also the option of BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system for added grip.
Whether you’re ferrying kids to school or heading off for a weekend getaway, the Gran Tourer delivers a relaxed and enjoyable driving experience.
Interior Space and Practicality
Inside, the Gran Tourer is cleverly designed to maximise space. It offers three rows of seats, comfortably accommodating up to seven people. The second row slides and reclines for extra legroom, while the third row folds flat when not in use, giving you extra boot space for shopping, luggage or pushchairs.
There’s plenty of headroom and legroom, even in the middle row, and the cabin is packed with family-friendly features like USB ports, practical storage spaces and wide-opening rear doors. It’s a proper family car that doesn’t compromise on quality.
Technology and Equipment
Even base models are well equipped, typically including BMW’s iDrive infotainment system, Bluetooth, DAB radio and rear parking sensors. Move up the trims and you’ll find features like navigation, reversing cameras, Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise control and powered tailgates.
It’s a high-tech space that keeps everyone connected, entertained and comfortable on the move.
Body Style and Trim Levels
The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer comes in a five-door MPV body style with a sleek and modern design that sets it apart from boxy rivals. Despite its practical layout, it still carries that unmistakable BMW presence.
Popular trim levels include:
- SE – The entry point, with 16-inch alloys, rear parking sensors, air con, and the iDrive infotainment system. Practical and well-rounded.
- Sport – Adds larger wheels, sporty interior detailing, upgraded upholstery and ambient lighting.
- Luxury – Designed for comfort, with leather seats, chrome accents and upgraded trim materials.
- M Sport – A sportier edge, with M body styling, larger wheels, sport seats, M suspension and premium interior finishes.
Engine options include the frugal 216d diesel, the punchier 218i petrol, and the family favourite 220d, which offers strong performance and good economy. Some models are also available with BMW’s smooth automatic gearbox for added convenience.
Why choose a used BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer for sale on finance?
Choosing a used BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer for sale on finance is a practical and cost-effective way to upgrade your family transport. These cars offer strong value retention thanks to BMW’s reputation for quality and performance, and many used examples have been well looked after by previous owners.
Compared to rivals like the Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer, Ford S-MAX or VW Touran, the Gran Tourer stands out with its premium interior, engaging drive and refined tech features. It’s less van-like and more stylish, making it perfect for families who want practicality without sacrificing a premium feel.
With flexible finance options and plenty of great-value models available, it’s an easy and affordable way to step into a seven-seat BMW.

FAQs
Even if the car is in a zero road tax band, you still need to register it as taxed each year. The process is the same, but you won’t be charged anything. So you’ll need to go online or to the Post Office and 'tax' it (it will show a £0 fee). It’s important to do that so the car is officially recorded as taxed.
Our technicians are highly qualified and experienced. They are trained professionals who specialise in inspecting and preparing used cars to a high standard. Every car undergoes a rigorous inspection by our technicians, who have lots of experience in the motor trade. In short, you can trust that knowledgeable, certified mechanics have checked over and serviced your car before sale.
No, we don’t offer GAP insurance. You would need to arrange GAP insurance separately if you want it.
Yes. We we partner with HiQ to provide servicing, so you can absolutely book your car in with us for routine servicing. Just visit our Carsa Service website or call the service centre, and you can schedule a service appointment at a location that’s convenient for you. We’ll be happy to continue taking care of your car’s maintenance.
The V5C logbook is sent to you by the DVLA after purchase. It usually takes a few weeks; typically you can expect it within up to 6-12 weeks by mail.
We’ll provide the service history documents to you when you get the car. If it’s digital, we’ll give you a printout or email, and if the car has a service booklet, that will be in the car’s documents pack. Essentially, at the point of handover (collection or delivery), we’ll hand you any service records or tell you how to access them. So you’ll have the history in hand right away.
It depends on the car’s recommended schedule. Typically, cars should be serviced once a year or roughly every 10,000-12,000 miles (whichever comes first). If we’ve just serviced the car before delivery, your next service would likely be due in about a year from that service date. We’ll let you know the last service date and any upcoming due dates when you purchase the car.
If the car just had an MOT done as part of our prep, then your next MOT is due one year from that date. If it’s a nearly-new car under 3 years old that hasn’t needed an MOT yet, then its first MOT will be due when it turns 3 years old. We’ll let you know the MOT status and date when you buy the car, so you’ll know when to plan for the next one.
