Full mechanical health check
Our prep process begins with a comprehensive mechanical inspection, carried out by experienced in-house technicians. We check the brakes, suspension, tyres, battery, lights, wipers, steering, and all key mechanical components for wear, safety, and performance.
Tyre tread is measured precisely, with any below 2mm replaced. We inspect brake pads and discs for thickness, condition, and balance and carry out road tests to ensure responsive handling and smooth performance. Every car gets a full diagnostic scan, fluids topped up, and a visual MOT check to meet or exceed roadworthiness expectations. If it doesn’t pass our rigorous checklist, it won’t make it to our site.
Cosmetic refresh & detail
Used shouldn’t mean scruffy. Our cosmetic preparation team focuses on restoring a clean, confident finish, inside and out. Dents over 25mm, highly visible chips, deep scratches, or misaligned body panels are repaired using smart techniques or refinishing where needed.
Alloy wheels are checked for scuffs and corrosion, then refurbished if they fall below our standards. Inside, we clean and refresh all upholstery, trim, and hard surfaces, removing stains, odours, and wear marks over 25mm. We know that first impressions matter, so every car is detailed with care to make it feel as good as it looks.
Functionality & features check
From keyless entry to climate control, every feature is tested to ensure full functionality. We check air conditioning performance, reset service lights, and test every switch, window, mirror, infotainment screen, speaker, and sat nav system.
Missing or damaged items like sun visors, interior lights and a charging cable are replaced if required. All keys are checked for full operation, remotely and manually and any necessary updates are completed. We even check legal tinting, and verify correct registration plates. Our focus is simple: no faults, no frustrations.
Final quality control
Before any car reaches your screen or our showroom floor, it passes through one final round of checks. We confirm everything’s present and correct, from locking wheel nuts to a charge cable. Tyres are inflated, oil levels set just right, washer fluid topped up, and a minimum of 3 months MOT is verified.
For electric cars, we ensure a 25% battery charge; for petrol and diesel vehicles, we top up enough fuel to switch off warning lights. Our team ensures plates are correctly aligned, screw caps match, and all details are in place. It’s all about finishing strong, so your handover experience is smooth and satisfying.
