When you pick up minor cosmetic damage on your alloys from everyday driving, you submit a request through the app. Once approved, a mobile technician visits your chosen location and carries out the work.

Private use only

Your car is for your private use — not used for couriering, deliveries, door-to-door sales, taxi work, driving lessons or anything similar. Commuting and Class 1/2 business use are fine.

Mainland UK

You're a permanent UK resident living in England, Scotland (excluding the Scottish Islands) or Wales. Northern Ireland is not covered by this plan.

Under 7 years old

The vehicle must be under 7 years old at the plan start date. Your Carsa team will confirm this against the registration details.

The bits worth knowing.

Honest answers to the questions Carsa customers ask most often about Shine! Protect Alloy.

No. Shine! Protect Alloy covers alloy wheels only — there is no tyre cover. This is a change from the old Tyre & Alloy plan, so if you've used Carsa before it's worth being clear about it.

No. This is a maintenance plan — it's not an insurance product and is not regulated by the FCA. It's an optional plan that covers minor cosmetic alloy damage from everyday driving. Big damage from accidents, fire, theft or vandalism is covered by your motor insurance, not this plan.

One authorised request can include up to 4 areas of damage. But there's an annual cap of 5 damages per 12-month period. So if you used 4 damages in your first visit, you'd have 1 left over the rest of that year. You can submit one request every 3 months.

Standard cosmetic treatment to diamond-cut alloys is covered. Full lathe-cutting refurbishment is not included — that's a more involved process and falls outside this plan.

The quickest way is the Shine! Protect app (iOS or Android) — upload a couple of photos of the damage and explain how it happened. Once authorised, you book a time and location. You can also call 01279 456 500 if you prefer.

The technician restores the wheel as close to original condition as possible using a mobile maintenance technique. Worth knowing — any aftermarket repair will vary slightly from the original factory finish, because factory wheels are machine-sprayed to a standard that's hard to replicate by hand.

Pre-existing damage at the plan start date will be recorded on your Plan Summary and is not covered. Repairs to areas already treated under the plan are also excluded.

Yes — within 30 days of the start date, if no maintenance work has been carried out, you get a full refund. If work has been carried out within 30 days, you can still cancel but no refund will be given. After 30 days, the plan can be cancelled at any time but you won't be entitled to a refund.

No. The plan is not transferable. If you cease to be the registered owner of the vehicle, the plan terminates automatically. Worth factoring in if you're thinking about how long you'll keep the car.

You choose when to submit a request — not using the plan in any given quarter doesn't void it. The 3-month window is a frequency cap on requests, not a "use it or lose it" rule.
