When you pick up minor cosmetic damage from everyday driving, submit a request through the Shine! Protect app. Once authorised, a Shine! mobile agent comes to your chosen location and carries out the work.

What counts as minor damage
The size limits, plainly explained.
Each repair type has a specific size limit. If damage exceeds these limits, it can't be repaired under this plan — even partially. Worth knowing upfront so there are no surprises when you submit a request.
Small chips from road debris
Damage to the painted surface from stones and road debris. The only type of damage covered on bonnet, boot and roof panels.
Dings from car parks & doors
Dented areas where the panel hasn't been ripped, perforated, torn or had its structure/alignment damaged.
Surface scratches
Scratches up to 30cm in total area. Where damage extends across multiple panels, the damage must still be no bigger than 30cm.
Bumper & panel scuffs
Scuffed areas where the body panel or bumper has not been cracked, ripped, torn or perforated.

Repairs are professional cosmetic disguises that weatherproof and blend the damage — they are not factory restorations. Plan covers painted body panels only — not glass, wheels, interior, trim or accessories. Vehicle must be under 7 years old at plan start. Pre-existing damage will be recorded on your Plan Schedule and is not covered. 30-day refund period if no maintenance work has been carried out. Some MPV / van-derived vehicles are excluded — your Carsa team will confirm eligibility.

Get authorised
AutoProtect (the Administrator) reviews and authorises the request before any work goes ahead.
Pay £25 call-out
Pay the £25 call-out fee for the visit. Pick a date, time and location — home, work or anywhere convenient.
Inspect & sign off
Check the work before you sign off. If you're not happy, don't sign — contact the Administrator straight away.
Before you add it
Three quick eligibility checks.
All three need to be true for the plan to apply. Your Carsa team will confirm these with you before adding it.
Private use only
Your car is for private use — including commuting and Class 1 business travel. Not allowed: taxis, driving schools, couriering, deliveries, door-to-door sales, motorhomes, commercial vehicles or company fleet/pool cars.
UK based
Damage must occur in England, Scotland (mainland), Wales or Northern Ireland. Repairs are carried out within these territories.
Under 7 years old
The vehicle must be under 7 years old at the plan start date with standard factory paint finish. Certain MPV / van-derived models are excluded — your Carsa team will confirm.

Honest answers to the questions Carsa customers ask most often about Shine! Protect Cosmetic Maintenance.
No. This is a maintenance plan — not an insurance product, and not regulated by the FCA. It covers minor cosmetic damage from everyday driving. Big damage from accidents, fire, theft or vandalism is covered by your motor insurance, not this plan.
Honestly — close, but not identical. Shine! uses professional mobile cosmetic techniques that blend the damage back into the panel and weatherproof it. For day-to-day chips and scuffs the results are excellent. But this is a cosmetic disguise, not a factory respray, and it's a different technique to a body shop.
Those are large flat panels which can't be repaired to an invisible standard with mobile techniques. On the bonnet, boot and roof, Shine! will treat stone chips and weatherproof them — but dents and scratches on those panels are not covered.
Stone chips up to 5mm in diameter. Minor dents, scuffs and scratches up to 30cm wide and 3mm deep, where the panel hasn't been cracked, ripped, torn or perforated. If damage exceeds these limits, it can't be repaired under the plan — even partially.
You choose which 4 to repair on that visit. The remaining damages become permanently excluded from future claims under the plan. Worth submitting requests promptly so damage doesn't pile up.
Before you collect your car, the current condition is recorded on your Plan Schedule — any existing chips, dents or scratches go on there. That way, anything new that happens after delivery is clearly covered. Pre-existing damage is excluded from the plan.
Yes — £25 per repair request (per visit), payable when you book the appointment. That covers however many of the 4 allowed repairs you do in that visit.
Yes — within 30 days of the start date, if no maintenance has been used, you get a full refund. After 30 days, the plan can be cancelled at any time but you won't be entitled to a refund.
The plan also ends if you move outside the UK or reach your total repair limit. Talk to your Carsa team about transfer terms when selling the vehicle.
Certain MPV / van-derived models — including Citroen Berlingo/Spacetourer, Fiat Qubo, Ford Tourneo, Hyundai I800, Mercedes V Class/Viano, Nissan NV200/NV300, Peugeot Partner/Rifter/Traveller, Renault Trafic, Toyota Pro-ace Verso, Vauxhall Combo Life/Vivaro Life and VW Transporter/Caravelle. Also: motorbikes, motorhomes, commercial vehicles, taxis, driving school cars and fleet/pool cars.

The plan is optional and can be removed before you take delivery. Once cover starts, the 30-day refund window applies — and pre-existing damage will be recorded on your Plan Schedule.
