Why the Audi A1 is a class-leading premium supermini
Driving Experience
The Audi A1 is light, agile and smooth to drive – ideal for urban streets and short commutes, but just as happy on the motorway. Its compact size makes parking a breeze, while the engines are efficient and responsive. Choose from frugal 1.0-litre petrols or more powerful 1.5 and 2.0-litre options in the S Line and Sportback 40 TFSI variants.
The suspension is tuned for comfort, but S Line models offer a slightly sportier feel without being harsh. Either way, the A1 gives you that solid Audi feel in a smaller, more efficient footprint.
Interior Comfort and Technology
Inside, the A1 punches above its weight. You’ll find high-quality materials, smart design and a well-laid-out dashboard. The driving position is adjustable and supportive, and there’s room in the back for adults on shorter journeys or kids day-to-day.
Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital display and MMI infotainment system (available on higher trims) are class-leading. Even base models are well equipped, with smartphone connectivity, touchscreen infotainment and air conditioning.
Practicality
The Audi A1 might be compact, but it’s surprisingly practical. The boot is a good size for a small hatchback, and the split-folding rear seats give you extra flexibility for weekend trips or shopping hauls. Five-door models (Sportback) offer easier access to the rear, making them ideal for families and shared journeys.
Body Styles and Trim Levels
The A1 is offered as a five-door Sportback in most modern versions, combining practicality with sporty, city-friendly style. Older models were also available in a three-door version.
Popular trim levels include:
- SE / Technik – Entry-level models with alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment, DAB radio and Bluetooth.
- Sport – Adds larger wheels, extra comfort features and more premium interior materials.
- S Line – Sportier look with lowered suspension, sharper styling, part-leather seats and upgraded interior trim.
- Black Edition – Dark exterior accents, bigger alloys and a more aggressive look.
- Competition / 40 TFSI – Performance versions with 2.0-litre engines, sporty seats, and driving dynamics to match.
Why choose a used Audi A1 for sale on finance?
A used Audi A1 for sale on finance is a great way to enjoy premium quality and strong resale value at a more accessible price point. These cars are well-built, reliable and inexpensive to run – making them ideal for new drivers, city dwellers or those wanting a compact car with a luxury feel.
Compared to rivals like the MINI Hatch, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Fiesta, the A1 stands out for its upmarket interior, tech offering and smooth, grown-up driving experience. It’s a small car with big car attitude – and it looks just as good as it feels to drive.
With flexible finance and used models typically only a few years old, it’s never been easier to drive away in a premium supermini with everyday practicality and undeniable style.

FAQs
Even if the car is in a zero road tax band, you still need to register it as taxed each year. The process is the same, but you won’t be charged anything. So you’ll need to go online or to the Post Office and 'tax' it (it will show a £0 fee). It’s important to do that so the car is officially recorded as taxed.
Our technicians are highly qualified and experienced. They are trained professionals who specialise in inspecting and preparing used cars to a high standard. Every car undergoes a rigorous inspection by our technicians, who have lots of experience in the motor trade. In short, you can trust that knowledgeable, certified mechanics have checked over and serviced your car before sale.
No, we don’t offer GAP insurance. You would need to arrange GAP insurance separately if you want it.
Yes. We we partner with HiQ to provide servicing, so you can absolutely book your car in with us for routine servicing. Just visit our Carsa Service website or call the service centre, and you can schedule a service appointment at a location that’s convenient for you. We’ll be happy to continue taking care of your car’s maintenance.
The V5C logbook is sent to you by the DVLA after purchase. It usually takes a few weeks; typically you can expect it within up to 6-12 weeks by mail.
We’ll provide the service history documents to you when you get the car. If it’s digital, we’ll give you a printout or email, and if the car has a service booklet, that will be in the car’s documents pack. Essentially, at the point of handover (collection or delivery), we’ll hand you any service records or tell you how to access them. So you’ll have the history in hand right away.
It depends on the car’s recommended schedule. Typically, cars should be serviced once a year or roughly every 10,000-12,000 miles (whichever comes first). If we’ve just serviced the car before delivery, your next service would likely be due in about a year from that service date. We’ll let you know the last service date and any upcoming due dates when you purchase the car.
If the car just had an MOT done as part of our prep, then your next MOT is due one year from that date. If it’s a nearly-new car under 3 years old that hasn’t needed an MOT yet, then its first MOT will be due when it turns 3 years old. We’ll let you know the MOT status and date when you buy the car, so you’ll know when to plan for the next one.
