Free 1-Year Warranty

No catch — it’s a straight inclusion on selected cars. The main thing to understand is the £1,000 per-claim limit: most common failures (alternator, water pump, brake calliper) fall well inside that, but the biggest-ticket items (full gearbox replacement, major engine rebuild) can run higher — in which case we pay the £1,000 and you cover the rest. If you want higher cover, the paid Extended Warranty goes up to the full purchase price of the car.

The warranty contributes £1,000 towards the repair and you pay the difference. For example, a £1,258 clutch replacement: AutoProtect pays £1,000, you pay £258. For bigger items (like a £7,000+ gearbox), you’d want to look at the paid Extended Warranty instead — it covers each claim up to the full purchase price of your car.

No. This is a Mechanical Failure Warranty — it’s not an insurance product and is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. It covers the cost of repairing covered components (up to £1,000 per claim) if they suddenly fail. It’s optional and included on this car at no cost.

No — the free warranty covers sudden mechanical and electrical failure only, not gradual wear and tear. If you want wear-and-tear cover (available while your car is under 6 years old and 60,000 miles at time of claim), you’ll need to upgrade to the paid Extended Warranty.

Yes. The free warranty covers both petrol/diesel and electric cars. On EVs, that includes the drive motor, EV controller, onboard charger and battery management systems. The £1,000 per-claim limit still applies — and gradual battery degradation (slow range loss as your battery ages) is not covered. Your EV uses our EV warranty terms, so pick the correct T&C document above.

Yes. Your Carsa team can price up the paid Extended Warranty on the day — higher claim limits (up to purchase price), wear & tear covered, European cover, and up to 4 years of protection. You can add it instead of the free warranty, or extend the term after the free year ends.

You’ll need pre-approval from AutoProtect before any repair begins. Once approved, work can be carried out — labour is contributed up to £100 inc VAT per hour. If repairs go ahead without approval, they won’t be covered.

The warranty is transferable to a private buyer for a £25 administration fee — which can add real value to your car when it comes time to sell.

Yes — the car must be serviced in line with the manufacturer’s schedule (or every 12 months / 12,000 miles if there’s no service history). Keep your service invoices as proof. Missing services could affect a claim.
