A full service history makes a huge difference to long-term dependability.

Audis cost a bit more to run than a Ford or Vauxhall, but they're in line with BMW and Mercedes. A minor service at an independent specialist typically lands between £180 and £280, with majors closer to £400. Brake discs, DSG gearbox oil changes and the occasional sensor are the usual bills. Sticking with an Audi-savvy independent rather than a main dealer keeps costs sensible.

It depends what you need, but the A3 is the safe all-rounder, the Q3 makes a great family SUV, and the Q4 e-tron is the pick if you're going electric.
